Call Option

Last updated

A call option gives the holder the right, but not the obligation, to buy the underlying security at the strike price for a specified period of time.

The buyer of a call pays the seller a premium up front. The buyer profits if the underlying rises sufficiently above the strike before expiration; the seller keeps the premium if it does not.
